I need a vw bug engine

im gonna build a dune buggy and i need to know where in detriot, michigan can i find a classic or brand new vw bug motor for under $1000 dollars

not too many places are going to have anything worth a d**n that cheap.. you maty get lucky but i wouldn't count on it .  v.w. motors re in high demend. especially now with the gas prices.. and the dune buggy crowd swallowing them up all over.. check e bay too.. and hot v.w. mag. there alot or rebuilers out there to talk to and deals galore..i would not hold my breath for a good running motor under 1000.00 maybe a rebuildable one... maybe...

go here and start reading. $1000 is kinda low, you may find a longblock though.
