Me and my group just finished a project where we had to make a commercial about acid rain. We just finished. I knew I had to edit the commercial because there were lots of bloopers and mistakes in between. Also, we had to make it like a real commercial. I needed to add music and edit the mistakes. So when I came home, I inserted the USB of my HandyCam. On my computer, it showed "Found New Hardware". I tried to install it, but my computer couldn't find anything. I needed an installation disk, but I was looking through all my CDs but couldn't find it. I was saddened that I would let my group down. I need to find a way to do this- without an installation disk- if I can. This is the model:

Model: DCR-HC36E

Sony Mini DV Basic DV Handycam with DSC Function

Weight and Dimensions:

370.0 gm

65.0 x 79.0 x 113.0 mm (W x H x D)

Also, I was thinking if my photo camera would do anything that includes its memory stick. My computer could connect with the photo camera, butnot the video camera.

  1. Hi, i searched and the only driver ive found so far is this one

    http://www.nodevice.com/driver/DCR-HC36E...

click the blue download button, dont forget to type in the verification code above it,... and if any problems, read the directions beneath it.

  2. The hardware that your computer said it found was just the camera connected via USB.  There might have been a trial program that came with the camera but there is nothing on the actual camera.  There is nothing you can do to edit your footage without some sort of a video editing program to go along with it.

Go to Best Buy and get an inexpensive program or look on ebay.
