  1. Start with a free blog like Blogger or Wordpress that allow point-and-click web publishing and hosting on their own servers. It's a great way to get started with web designing, and the templates allow you a degree oif freedom in experimenting with your style.

  2. I started on www.piczo.com it's great and easy to use. It has step by step instructions on how to start and end your website. But if this doesn't work for you, just type "make my own website" or something on Google. Hope this helps! :)

  3. You have to think about what you want from it first...

Is it going to have to cope with millions of visitors or serve large downloads?

Is it going to be a static page? Or do you need it to refer to an ever-changing database?

For a simple static page that'll only be visited by a few hundred people a month, an easy solution is to create the page in MS Word, then go to 'Save As' and choose to save it as an HTML file called index.htm.

Then register for a bit of free webspace from geocities.com and put your index.htm file on there using their Easy Upload tool.

  5. Start by purchasing an easy to read book on making web sites. The "dummies" series are good ones for the beginner.

If you are in a big hurry, web hosting companies like godaddy.com can get you started with templated designs.

If your looking for something more advanced but still user friendly then try Easy Site Build or Sitebuilder Designs, they have everything you need in building your own website: domain name registration or domain transfer, web hosting, web builder, site maintenance and email accounts. Everything is laid out in an easy to follow step by step instruction. Some of the features included enable you to add your own themes, videos, images or mp3 music making your site unique to you. You have create your website with a pre-made template or completely with your own HTML! Its quite hard but first you need to know how to create graphics, you should use a spcieal "graphics" editing program like Paintshop pro. go to www.downloads.com or go to google and type "PSP free trial download" and you can download a trial for free. Secondly learn some HTML. go to www.funkychickens.com its a great page for learning basic HTML. also if you go to www.divergente.org and in the visitors section you go to tutorials or HTML and you will find more great things to help you out. Some websites will also provide you with free layouts.

    Good luck!
