  1. I think children like drawing and pretend. Also stickers are great too. Grab some with a piece of paper and help them stick the stickers to the paper.

  2. I agree with the cardboard box ideas. You should make a house out of a big box and cut a few windows in it. Put some homey things in the house like a little kitchen or a cradle with a few babies in it. Then you can help them decorate it  with washable paint(make aprons out of trash bags) It will give them HOURS of fun and they will be completely thrilled.

  3. you can do:

coloring, don't use oil pastels or any of those sorts of crayons[very messy]

plan a mini scavenger hunt in the room? like a really easy one, and have them find items hidden in areas, i think this will build teamwork and them realizing how to respect each other more

building blocks- get playing blocks and have them build different things from them

playing a game of catch, where one child can throw a mini ball to another back and forth, so on

the best idea that i suggest is toys especially toy cars, it keeps them busy for a long time [thought don't let them play with small pieces]

  4. drawing or painting, why not singing songs together?painting with your own fingers is really fun.that's all i can think about right know....

  5. painting

    crayon pictures

    making a big collage together

    singing nursery rhymes

    playing 'families'

    playing with dolls/action men

    dancing to music

  6. One activity I like to do with younger kids is get some empty medium-sized cardboard boxes and have the kids stack them up.  Then they have a ball knocking them down with their hands or heads or feet. Then they stack them up again.  They also have fun making "cars" out of larger cardboard boxes.  They can decorate them and sit in them and pretend to drive.  You'll have to help them with making a steering wheel (cut to a round shape one of the top flaps).  If you cut out the bottom, they can walk around with the car to make it move.

  7. A lot of the ideas so far have been great, so I won't repeat any of those...

But- an idea that I had was Play dough!

I taught VBS for under 3 year olds and we made play dough one day. (there are "recipes" online that you can easily find)

The fun part about this is that you can create different colors, and then talk about those colors and other colors that match:

for example: with RED playdough, what else is red? Apples are red-- and that gives you a good snack idea too!

GREEN playdough, what else is green? Frogs are green, lets color a picture of a frog!  etc...

Make sure that YOU make the play dough WITH the kids! Let them help you measure out the used items! That way, they helped!

Also- another recipe you could do is to make instant pudding!

Get everything to make pudding, and let them help you pour the milk and such into the large tupperware container (make sure none of your kids have a dairy allergy!) Then, have the kids sit in a circle and pass around the SEALED tupperware and take turns shaking the pudding-- to mix it well!

you could also allow the kids to put sprinkles on their pudding, if you provide different shapes and colors of sprinkles!

    Best of luck!
