Question:

I need advice... I think i have ADD...?

- I cant focus when i do my hw

- I dont focus during lectures

- it takes me a lot longer to do my hw than others because i get distracted

- i'm distracted easily, period

- i procrastinate

- i am disorganized

- am frequently late

- have trouble starting tasks

- am irritable at times

That's all I can think of. Do i have ADD? =\

  1. It sorta sounds like it, but the only way to find out for sure is to get tested for it. I think your doctor can do that.


  2. It could be, but it also can be poor eating habits, not enough sleep, lack of vitamins in your diet, poor discipline habits.

    Yes, it could be add, but you know add is really something that has been newly a thing.. it was never really around 50 years ago.

    People just did what they knew they had to do, regardless of how they feel.  

    Many add people are highly organized, so that might be a lack of discipline on things.

    and we can't really say if you have add or not.. it could be some add symptoms, but I don't think all.

    Another things is, if it is add, what will you do about it?

    There are many avenues.

    So try this one.. get more sleep, cut out the sugar, caffeine, food coloring and additives, and take a good multi vitamin.

It definitely sounds like you have many of the symptoms, but you need to go to a doctor to be sure.  I was diagnosed with ADD in college, so I understand what you're going through.  It's frustrating, but there are definitely resources out there to help you.   Two of the best books I've ever read on the subject are "Journeys through ADDulthood" by Sari Solden and "ADD-Friendly Ways to Organize your Life" by Kathleen Nadeau and Judith Kolberg.   Good luck!
