  1. IF your Father is a Canadian citizen, so are YOU.

    Get going !!!

As a Canadian citizen, you have every legal right to a Canadian passport, Thur your Father. Apply at once for it.

Once you  have you passport, come on over. No visa required.

Once you  are in Canada, you  can apply to ANY Canadian University, and pay the lowest rates, as a citizen of  Canada..

What are you waiting for ???

Do you know how LUCKY you are ? Most people would kill for that chance to come to Canada, with out years of waiting .

If you live in the UK, check with Canada House , in London about how to apply for your passport, today.

  2. The other responders have pretty well addressed the immigration questions. Here are some things to look at re University.

In Canada we do not separate barrister and solicitor. You would become

    Jane Doe,LLB

    Barrister and Solicitor

In Toronto you might look at The University of Toronto

    http://www.law.utoronto.ca/prosp_stdn_co...

and York University - The Law School here is called Osgoode

    http://www.osgoodepd.ca/.

There are other universities in cities not too far from Toronto like Windsor also. To find them go to google.com, click on Pages from Canada and type in

University + "Law School" + Windsor (or whatever city interests you.)

McGill in Montreal also has an excellent Law School but it is not close enough to commute to on a daily basis however weekend trips home to Toronto are managed by a lot of students.

Hope this gives you some ideas for the education part of your concerns.

  3. You could get a student visa provided you receive a letter of acceptance from a university or college. To do that, you would have to submit to the university in question all your high school transcripts.

As for what jobs you could do, that depends on what you are qualified to do. If you are looking to work while you study, I did find this from the government website:

    From: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information...

    Work permits for students

"How do I find out if I can work while studying in Canada?

Foreign students can work in Canada during their studies, and after they graduate. In most cases, you will need to apply for one of the student-related work permits, which are required if you want to work in a co-op/internship placement, off campus, or after graduating from your studies (Post-Graduation Work Permit Program). Find out if you qualify by reviewing the information on work permits for students in the Related Links section at the bottom of this page."

I would advise that you look through http://www.cic.gc.ca and read very carefully about immigration requirements. If you want to study here, also be advised that foreign students pay more in tuition as the government here already provides a partial (not much) subsidy to universities for its citizens. It may not make much of a difference for you but it is something you ought to know.

As for moving here permanently, it will take awhile as just having a student visa does not necessarily grant you immediate or permanent citizenship. In fact, most students are expected to return home after they complete their studies...unless they have a job offer in which case the employer will take care of the paperwork. But, one step at a time, right?

    Hope that helps.

  4. Hi, I'm in a similar position - although I'll have a lot more difficulty getting a visa! If you can easily get one though, I think you could do pretty much whatever you wanted to do.

You will be able to go to Uni there, just search for their website and find out about admissions. Would you be living with your parents? As in, would it be a complete family emigration or just you?

If it's OK, I'll star this so I can see what other people write, I would love to know too!

  5. Are you unsure about getting a job there and going to a Canadian university because you're from a different country, and you're not sure that you're allowed to get a job or go to school there? I don't really know much about Canada and Canadians, but I'm pretty sure that it's like other countries, it's perfectly fine for you to get a job there and go to school there. Many people go to college over in London or Paris, places like that, when they're from the US.

And since your dad's Canadian, have you asked him about this stuff?

  6. i dunno, you could marry me and i have a dual nationality canadian and british lol
