I am going into Intermediate school (AKA middle school) this year. The kids that are going into 8th grade this year were in 6th grade when i was in 5th grade. Most of them were REAL bullies to me, smoked Cigars, and did Real Sexual things. When i mean Real sexual things i mean REAL sexual things, more then just touching and kissing...and all this happened when they were 6th graders. So I'm really worried by what they are up to now. Also the school is not really that great. Its apart of our states Abbott Program. Meaning that it is Inadequate and Unconstitutional. I have the Option to stay with my aunt in Silver Spring, Maryland. I'm afraid if i go there, I will miss my old friends in this small New Jersey town.

  1. Well, Junior High is a sucky experience. It's just one huge pile of c**p. It's an endless cycle of the same old song and dance. You get made fun of a lot. The younger you are, the more disrespectful to life you are. It's true. People tend to discriminate more at a younger age. Once you get into high school, life becomes so much better. College– the best (I've actually stayed at a college for 10 days– NYLF.) (I'm only in high school.)

Really, it's all how you want to look at it. When I was exactly your age about 11 months ago, I moved to Illinois from a small Pennsylvania town. At first, it was h**l. I hated it. A month passed by, and life was better. 2 years pass by, and here I am. I love it. Life isn't always what it seems to be. I'd personally tell you, do what seems right to your first instinct.

  2. The kids at my school did the same things, it's just a thing that they feel they need to do to be considered cool. It's really good that you aren't into those kinds of things and you look down upon them. Good job on knowing what's right and what's wrong. So, some suggestions would be:

    1. Don't hang out with those people; lots of 8th graders don't even talk to 7th graders. And if you do get hassled by them, just ignore it and keep walking. That's what I did, and they stopped bugging me because I wasn't giving them a reaction.

    2. Do you not agree with what your school will be teaching? Will it not get you into good colleges or a decent high school because it's unconstitutional? If you really don't want to go to the school, you can stay with your aunt if it's okay with whoever is in charge of your well-being.

    3. Of course you will miss your friends, but is it really worse than staying in a school that you don't like? You will make friends wherever you decide to go.
