OK so i Basically f..... up my life by moving to germany. Like for me the schooling is horrible, they don't teach me anything, i still don't speak the language good, and ive been here a year. My parents they don't like it here either but they have family and friends. All my friends are back in Minnesota. So I'm thinking to move back when I'm 18 (I'm 15 now) . I don't have any family there , so i don't know where i would live till i find a job and stuff, and so what should i do? I just CANT get used to Germany and i REALLY REALLY want to go back. I need advice!

  1. there is no such word as CANT

  2. Will you graduate after 9th grade or will you drop out?As far as i know, most Hauptschulen end with 10th grade, not 9th grade. If you think about dropping out without a degree, i strongly suggest rethinking that.

Apart from that, I agree that going back to the US might be your best option.Graduates from Hauptschulen have low chances on the job market in germany, Hauptschule dropouts have practically none. Thats because Hauptschule has such a low standard that practically anyone can get a degree there with just a little work.Either you didn't work at all and skipped classes, or your command of german must be really bad, I don't se how else one could fail Hauptschule (sorr for the harsh words). If it's a language problem and you can't go back to the US, work on that. You can still do a Realschulabschluss later, provided you graduate from Hauptschule and don't drop out.

  3. Talk to your parents about the fact you hate it there, they hate there and the schooling is not up to par.  If they still show no compassion and thought, then you might consider applying to a college in the US when you have a year left in German school.  You could live on campus, work part time, and study.  Work hard, get a scholarship and some federal financial aid (since you are a U.S. citizen still) and return to your home in Minnesota.

  4. That must be incredibly difficult for you. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. Have you talked to your parents honestly about what you're going through? Do you have family in other states that might take you in, or friends in Minnesota whose family might take you in? I wish I could offer better advice, but I really think you need to be talking with your parents. Good luck to you.
