  1. trial and error  is the best to certify: it may suit you or not!

  2. It IS a drug because it acts chemically in your body to change the function, just like caffeine, Prozac, and aspirin are "drugs."

This product contains lithium, a naturally occurring metal element that is commonly prescribed to treat bipolar disorder, and much less frequently depression.  You should be careful because the therapeutic dose is very close to the toxic dose; in fact, people who are being prescribed this medication by a physician or other health care provider normally get monthly blood draws before getting their refill.  The dosage is carefully monitored and adjusted to prevent illness and death.

Also, because so-called supplements are not regulated the way that over the counter drugs, prescription drugs, and food are you really only have the company's word that the product contains what they say it does in the amounts that they claim.  This is something important to consider when taking any supplement, but even more with lithium or something else that can quickly reach toxic levels in the body.

It probably would improve your mood; lithium is well studied and has been successful for many patients.  However it is not normal first-line treatment for depression AND given the high risk of toxicity I suggest you stay away from it.  If you do want to take it, talk to a doctor about getting blood tests.  I suggest doing a search for "lithium" or "lithium ororate" (the form found in this product), as well ast "lithium carbonate," the most commonly prescribed form, and "lithium citrate."

If you do not want to take prescription drugs for depression, try exercise, getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night, checking your vitamin D levels (ask for a blood draw for"25-OH-vitamin D") and thyroid hormone levels.  Therapy or counseling is also shown to be as affective as drug treatment; in combination they have a high success rate.  The treatment of depression is often very slow and immediate results are almost unheard of.

Please be very careful.  I urge you not to take this product.

EDITED:  I did a little more reading on that site and am very cocnerned for anyone taking it.  It is full of misinformation or confusing statements.  First of all, there is no such thing as inorganic lithium carbonate or lithium citrate; in chemistry organic compounds contain carbon and oxygen, both of which are found in citrate and carbonate ions.

Also, it does say NOT to take their product for any psychiatric condition, which depression is.

  3. It is not a medication (drug) so you can try it and see. See site below with other natural help for depression. Do you think that you are depressed from a lack of anti-depressant?

  4. try meditation, yoga..it may help more than you think
