  1. Im not sure if you got ADD..but if you do, get sum pills for it.

another thing, If you want to concentrate, try to go into a quiet place..perhaps a library and see if you can concentrate..if you do..great, you can move on to the next level.

My teacher has done a survey on my class and i happen to be the one who can work without getting distracted. What i do is..

i start humming one of my fav songs for a couple of mins with my eyes fixed on the thing i am suppose to do, then i stop humming and start doing the work.

    if this doesnt help

theres another way: Baby sit one of the most annoying kids ever. Kids that bother you every second. Soon, you learn how to ignore them. Ignoring is good, it helps you concentrate on your work, just try ignoring ppl. works for me

Also another thing, make sure your working environment has nothing that can distract you : like posters or books or magazines that can get you carried away, always turn off your comp until you finished your work, and just put your whole mind to your work, and most importantly..hum..then ignore

    =]

    hope it helps

  2. If you get on the computer it has to be for a reason, just limit it to that reason.

  3. gen, I didn't have the internet when I went to school, and I had trouble staying focused on my school work. I will agree that the internet is distracting, but internet or no I always wanted to do something else other than school work.

What did I do? I listened to my parents... they told me to buckle down, do your work and get good grades. It was all a matter of attitude... and the fear of being punished. I did my work... took short breaks... then made myself get back to work.

It's on your shoulders, gen. It's up to you to find the fortitude deep inside you... to find the pride... to find the wisdom... to find the love of knowledge. Nobody is going to do it for you. Do your work, then when you've accomplished a goal do your thing as a reward.

  4. Oh, you need to take a break from the 'pooter (as it is affectionately known in our family!).  If you can't resist the temptation of the Internet while on the computer, you need to take a few days off of the computer and catch up on some reading. Don't even turn it on!

If you have trouble focusing on one thing at a time for very long, allow yourself the possibility that you are not ready to sit down and learn, yet; that you need activities that keep you active to learn. Take nature walks (with a notebook and pencil for drawing and writing), bake goodies (read some chemistry about why baking powder does what it does), go volunteer somewhere (like clean up a park).

When I find myself going online a LOT, I find it very helpful to get away from it. It is tough to do the first day, but by the second and third days, the feeling of urgency will be lessened a lot and you can try to go on again, but you have to work on the impulse control and it will always be tough.  The Internet is just too much fun!

    Good luck!

    :o)

  5. Try to set goals for yourself and a schedule to go on the computer. Try to go on the computer only when you are done with your reading and working on home-schooling subjects you and your parents agreed to complete.

Internet can be a dangerous addiction, because it has so many things, places to go, friends, information and so on.

You need to focus on your own goals.

    Good luck

  6. My Mom and Dad have a device called content barrier. It can disable some websites on the internet. Even better it can disable the internet at certain times. For example the content barrier on my computer will cut internet access from 9:00 at night to 8:00 in the morning.  Your parents can change the settings to whatever they feel is best for you,

    here is the website

  7. Get ADHD meds?

  8. Stay off the computer, at least until your work is done.  If you are doing on-line schooling, you might need to switch to text based in order to control this behavior.
