I read online that 250cc bikes are good for beginners to learn on which is what I need to do. I found a couple of 250cc motorcycles for sale where I am but I have no idea if they are good or not. Here are the links:

1980 Yamaha SR250G

1996 Honda Nighthawk 250cc

Can anyone tell me about the quality of these bikes? I can't seem to find anything about them on the internet.

  1. here are my thoughts, my first bike was a 600cc and its was perfect for me. I sat on a 250cc bike and i didn't feel comfortable because the bike was so small. i have a Honda shadow and I love it to pieces. I did dump it once when i was first learning, but it will happen. My advice to you is to go to the dealers and sit on didn't kinds of motorcycles. you will know which feels the best to you. just because i have a 600cc bike doesn't mean i use it, its all up to you weather you use all the cc's or not. its all on how the rider uses the throttle. good luck and ride safe!

  2. Both are nice bikes, but make sure that they are not too small for you, there is nothing worse than thinking the a 250 is a good bike only to discover that it doesn't have any back bone to it. both bikes are fine for practice but something maybe in the 500 to 600 range might be better depending on your size and where you intend on riding it.

  3. Both of those are money pits, and over priced

You can get new or last years model for a wee bit more

  4. Either one of those would be a great beginner bike. Kawasakis and Hondas are both good, solid bikes and tons of fun.
