  1. It depends on what you will need, but the most basic include:

    - working area/desk which can be a simple desk or a long custom made table

    - computer

    - printer which can be placed on top of the desk or you can customize your table and have a drawer for the printer

    - filing cabinets

    - area to put your current work at hand

    - book cases, if you've got lots of books

    - place for other equipment such as fax, scanners, etc

    - telephone

    - wirings for your internet

    If you will have a dedicated room for your home office, make sure you read the IRS publication Business Use of Your Home http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p587.pdf so you can learn how to deduct this office from your taxes next year
