I went to US four years ago as a student on F-1 visa, then I landed a full-time job there, and I got H-1 visa through the company. Now I have come to my home country, India for a vacation because I want to get my H-1 visa stamped in my passport here, for multi-entry purposes.

Before I boarded my flight from US, I had an old I-94 stapled to my passport which was for the F-1 visa & the new I-94 that came with my H-1 visa. The immigration official at the airport took out the old I-94 from my passport and kept it for his records. But when I landed in India, the immigration officer there did not ask for my new I-94 - he just saw my F-1 visa and in the nearby page he put a stamp mentioning my date of arrival.

Is this going to be a problem? Should I have shown him my I-94, would he have put a seal on that or something? Have I done something wrong, or is everything ok?

  1. its ok, no worries... despite the perception they do not always do things exact and no need for him to have done anything with new i94
