I always get stuck watching my brother and sisters.I don't have a problem with it if it is one time, but usually I Have to watch them 3-4 times a day.I have better things I could be doing than watching them.I try tell my parents that I don't like watching them this much, but they continue to make me watch them. What should I say to my parents?

  1. I would tell them your plans for the day in the morning. Like: I was thinking of going to (insert friend's name here) around 3 and leaving at about 6. Maybe then you can do your stuff too. Or you could ask them to tell you a couple days ahead of time when they need you to watch them.

  2. Tell them you going to start charging. And if they refuse to pay, your siblings will start disappearing one by one. Maybe that will encourage them to stop making you watch them. Or just start being a terrible babysitter to force them to take notice to your requests.

  3. just tell them how you feel...they may be to busy to realize what they are having you do bothers you..talk to them and negotiate

  4. Tell your parents that ur exhausted.ALso try to understand if ur parents are having any trouble.

  5. well first of all, how old are you? And how much is "all the time"?

I had to watch my brothers growing up a lot and it wasn't always fun. Need more info before I can advise....

  6. I suggest telling them ahead of time what you plan to do. For me, it's not a matter of having little siblings to care for, but the fact that my parents want me home as much as possible (like it isn't enough already..). I normally tell my parents 3-7 days in advance. And make sure that they remember it! What I do is put my plans, once I've asked and told them about it, on the calendar by the fridge. It's like a family calendar. All plans for any day are on it. That way they won't forget and at least try to make sure they don't ruin your plans. Be polite when asking too! xD Experience taught me that if I whine about something, most likely I won't get it. And I'm a spoiled teen too.

    Hope that helps ^^

  7. welcome to the world of the big sister. i was in your shoes many years ago. school starts soon so join and get involved as much as you can.  this is a little bother right now, and it prepares you for the real world.  you'll survive.  now take the little ones for a walk and smile.  you have a family, many don't.

  8. tell them that you're growing up and would like to spend some time with your friends.  ask if it would be possible to receive some kind of payment for all the work that you are doing.  if you're nice about it, they'll probably set up some sort of allowance system for you.  you'd still have to watch them, but you'd be getting compensation.
