OK so my daughter is about to be 12 months old on the 21st. I found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago. I had my first doctors appointment yesterday. I'm 6 weeks and 6 days right now. With my daughter I had to have a c-section because she was breech. My doctor said that I can have a vbac (vaginal birth after c-section). But she warned me of the risks. So now I don't know what to do. Here are my reasons to why or why not I want a vbac.

First I really need and want a fast recovery.

second I want to have control of how many kids i can have

third I don't like the risk of hurting or loosing my child or my own life

  1. well i dont risk ur life or ur childs ask the doctor and talk to her about

and not all csection recoverys are hard. try not to stress ur self out and also think about if u go in to do it vaginally that u could be in labor for hours and hours and end up having to get a c-section.

  2. well whether or not you have a csection or vaginal recovery time is slow i mean if you have it vaginally the episiotomy has to heal and let me tell you i would rather have the stitches on my belly than where i sit all the time with my fist baby i had fourth degree lacerations with my episiotomy and 155 stitches took three months and a second set of stitches inside and out to heal the second baby was third degree lacerations with 89 stitches and the doctor told me there is no way i can deliver another child vaginally but that is still what i am striving for. whether you have csection or vaginal doesn't change how many kids you may have in the future and there is a risk of life lost with both so you have to do what you feel in your heart is best for you and baby god meant for them to come vaginally but sometimes you just can't do that so try for natural and you and your doctor can decide what to do if that is just not possible for you

  3. I had my daughter nearly 7 months ago via c-section as she was also breech. I am not pregnant but when I do get pregnant again, I will be attemtping VBAC.

Honestly, the additional risks are minimal and they keep such a good eye on you, so if they anything looks wrong they'll do another C

    Good luck

  4. I had a c-section three months ago, and the doctors also said if I were to have another baby I could try to have a vbac. Once you have a c-section once, the second one will be easier to recover from. I dont know from experience, but I know many people that say the recovery gets easier after each c-section. I assume its because all your muscle has already been cut into before. Secondly, if you try to have a vbac just make sure you dont wait too long to try and have you baby, or you may end up with an emergency c-section. when I have my second child, I will attempt at having a vbac but if my doctor tells me the best thing is to have another c-section then I wouldnt think twice because I dont want to put my childs life at risk. I hope everything works out for you, and I hope you are able to have a vbac! Best of wishes :)
