Not sure to have a flue less gas fire or if I can have a wallmounted gas fireplace?

  1. Combustion can consume oxygen and produce other gases, including possibly carbon monoxide.  So I would not personally have a combustible heater or fireplace that does not vent combustion gases to outside.  Although, I have an older home with steam heat and storm windows, so there is limited ventilation when everything is closed up for winter.

A flue less gas fireplace might be okay if you have a drafty home or efficient central air changing ventilation system that transfers heat from outgoing air to incoming fresh air.
