  1. you will enjoy living and studying in Maadi.

life in Egypt is simple and charming .

try to join Maadi Club to have friends and play games .

try to understand the culture so as not to make blunders .

    the people are friendly .

    the majority is Moslem ,.

    there are 13 % Christians .

but you wont feel a difference between them .

many females cover their hair , arms , and dress modestly bec Islam orders them to do so.

Moslems do not drink alcoholic beverages or eat pork.

im telling  you this so that you would understand them.

no one would dictate anything in your life .

    have a nice stay .

  5. Maadi is a very good neighborhood, and American college is a good school too.

if you are interested in reading books, you can try to register your self in the library of the AUC (American University in Cairo). you can go to a number of bookshops like "Diwan" in Zamalek, "Kotob Khan" in Maadi itself, "Sherouk" in Cario Down Town.

if you are like shooing, there "Maadi Grand mall shopping centre". City Stars in Heliopolis, Four Seasons Mall in Four Seasons Hotel in Giza, Grand Hayat mall in Gran Hayat hotel in Manial, Nile Plaza in Orascom Towers in Masbero cournish (Cairo Down Town), Zamalek Area,

in the same places there are excellent cinemas too

Computer supplies are available in Hyper markets like Carfour hyper market, and Hyper one hyper market.

also a number of computer mall exist: there are three in el Khalifa El Mamoun Street in Hiliopolis, and another 2 in Gaamet El Dowal street in Mohandesien.

try to register your self in a social sports club, something like Shooting Club (nadi el said) in Mohandsien or in Mokatam heights. there you will find a place to practice the sports you like and meet people to interact with

if you are interested in Art Museums, there are alot. specially the Palace of Art in the Opera House in Zamalek. and through something called "Sakiet el Sawi" you can find links to other art museums.

Finally Cairo can be considered a multi layered historical city. you can find Phoronic monuments (in Giza) also the Egyptian museum in Cair Downtown, Coptic in old Cairo, and there is also the museum of Coptic arts in Old Cairo too, Islamic in what is called Fatimed Cairo, and the European New-Classic urban context of cairo down town.

There other cities in Egypt you will like to visit and experience, each has it is own unique experience:

Alex, (urban life, good fish restaurants, public beaches)

Marina (water fron resort, white sand beaches),

Hurgada, Sharm El Shiekh, (good night urban life, sand beaches, diving, camping)

St Katrine (amzing anciant place, amazing sun rise and sun set in the mountains)

    Taba (same as Hurgada),

Areesh (sand beaches with lots of palm trees),

Luxer, Aswan ( very nice kind people, Nubian museum, phoronic museum, great traditional urban life in night and day, seeing the High dam, enormous number of phoronic temples and tombs, specially Hatshepsot temple)
