  1. It depends on where you get it and the morph(color), they range from $30-500. Its best to get from a breeder, you generally get a higher quality of animal and its usually cheaper.

They don't need any special heating, heating is more damaging to them then being to cold. As long as the room doesn't drop below 68F they'll be ok and even below that is ok, anything below 60F I definitely wouldn't take a chance on. People actually need air conditioners in the summer to keep them cool enough.

Yes you can handle them, they are gentle and docile, they tolerate it very well, I wouldn't handle babies to much if at all, past the 3 month point is generally ok for small periods of time each day.

Reptiles are more of a watch pet then a touch pet so sometimes when its tempting to reach in the cage and grab them, just sit there and watch their movements instead and see how neat they are.

Research on Google a lot more before you get them, there's a lot more to them then what I have just said, like food requirerments, etc, etc.

Join some reptile forums and read a lot of caresheets.

You don't have to give me best answer I just want the best for the gecko, I see so many reptiles and animals getting mis-treated because of brainless owners who don't bother researching first and think they are easy to care for.

  2. I can't help you on the cost issue.  It will depend on what state you're in, whether you get it from a store or a breeder, etc.

Cresties make excellent pets and are easy to handle.  They don't require UVB, or a large tank, though they do require humidity and heat.

Males can't be housed together, but 2 or more females can be kept together if provided adequate space.
