  1. I'd do an "American-Mexican" bbq.  Make regular hamburgers, but add in some jalepeno peppers for a kick.  I'm sure you can google recipes for something like that.

Rachael Ray seems to always put a spicy, ethnic, sometimes Mexcican twist on lots of classic recipes.  You may want to browse her recipes online.

Or google mexican pizzas.  Those are always a winner.

  2. Arroz con pollo is a good start, or make baked chicken with red rice(lots of flavor, tomatoes and spices). A version of paella? but that depends whether or not your family like fish and spicy sausage.

Or make a dish with stewed beef with typical mexican flavorings. Burritos are good, they will recognize them but make them typical as you know it and a few things that they don't recognize.

You know his family a bit so go slow, there are members in my husband's family that never know what I am going to cook

he's dutch and I am american.

  3. Hi

    how about a split?

say an appetizerr or dessert that's American & the main course Mexican.

    A perfect blend of both

  4. I would ask his mother or sister..

There may be a special or favorite.
