  1. If you are having trouble sleeping due to stress I would consider getting a Terrastar. They are pendants that work on you bodies electromagnetic field relax you. I find mine to be really helpful with focusing during the day and sleeping at night.

  2. 1-3 MG OF MELATONIN AVAILABLE OCT AT MOST PHARMACIES.

  3. You can try the Indian Ginseng:Withania somnifera.

You will have to contend with its side effects, mainly its aphrodisiac properties.

  4. Keep in mind that herbals are also drugs.Valerian root should not be taken lightly, especially if you are on any other medications.

Many drugs come from plants(your aspirin from willow bark)

Try some good old calcium before bed(warm milk)

Look @ sleeping habits as well. Are you involved with stressful activities before bed?Do you have correct pillow, turn off all background noise & lights, have a bedtime schedule for your body to get into a rhythm?

Eating sweets before bed also doesn't help.

Look @ your own patterns & stress level.Changing one may bring peaceful sleep w/out OTC anything.

  5. I sleep better when I get some sunlilght and mild exercise.

I also seem to sleep better when I take calcium.

I do like Valerian but it seems to take 3-4 nights of me using it to be really effective, then after about a month it stops working so I take a break from it.

You can also try chamomile tea, hops, passion-flower, or one of the herbal sleep aids like Calms Forte

    http://www.calmsforte.com/

  6. Natural remedies include warm milk, melatonin, valerian, 5-HTP and others that you can find in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".

  7. You may need a perscription but there are natural ways to go about it also. maybe try Valerian Root. that seems to help a lot of people. It is all natural.

Keep in mind the over the counter stuff is nothing but Benadryl.

  8. Most people are deficient in melatonin. You can safely take up to 15 mg. of it. Most tablets come in 1 to 3 mg.

Also eating food rich in carbohydrates about a half hour before bedtime helps. Carbohydrates boost your seretonin levels naturally. Valarian root helps by relaxing you... but it tastes like c**p, even in pill form.
