I need an answer within 1 hour??!!?

i'm due for an x-ray this morning. the letter says no food and only clear liquids. does a cup of tea count as a 'clear liquid' if i dont put milk in it? i really want one!

  1. A clear liquid is a liquid you can see through, I had an X Ray not long ago and they said that Powerade is the best thing to drink if you are thirsty...

    i don't think food is ok though?

  9. A cup of tea is more than likely ok.  Same as having a colonoscopy, no solid foods,  jello and liquids are fine.

  10. When I had surgery I was told to only have clear liquids, and they said that included coffee and tea with nothing in it, and clear chicken broth, among the obvious.

  20. You may drink coffee or tea, but keep in mind that the caffeine might affect you a lot more if there is no food in your stomach to temper the absorption of the substance.

    If you can see through it is the guideline.

  23. Yes, that's fine.  Clear liquids are tea or coffee without milk, strained juices, broth, bullion, carbonated drinks.  Don't drink anything with red coloring in it.    

  24. no it is not a clear liquid...they mean water...usually tea contains milk which is a food and it is also staining and contains tannin and cafeine

  25. A "clear liquid" is a liquid that you can see through such as water and apple juice. Tea is probably too dark of a liquid and you might want to hold off till after your test.  

  26. When i had my X ray and colonscopy i was allowed clear liquids and this including chicken noodle soup with everything sieved out! i had a pamphlet from the hospital and i asked my consulatant first
