  1. A very good, free anti-virus available to download is AVG 8 Anti-virus:

    http://www.free.grisoft.com

And for any spyware problems, get SpyBot - Search and Destroy:

    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirro...

Both are free, as powerful as paid programs, like Norton and McAfee, and don't use up as many resources.

Just boot into Safe Mode (Press F8 when turning on the computer) and run full scans.

    Hope that helps.

  2. download nod 32 from www.teach-nology.com

  3. you can go online and download trend.  They will give you a 3 month trial.

  4. I've been suing Avast for free for a few years and never had a problem. Never caught a virus.

  5. Use Panda Anti Virus 2008 it really works and deletes spywares, virus etc......

  6. a

  7. These two are free and work very well.

    AVG

    http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/...

    Avast

    http://www.avast.com/eng/free_virus_prot...

  8. Checkout Comodo Anti Virus.  Free.  Uses less computer resources than Avira and Avast.

The current version of their anti virus / anti spyware program will be replaced by a new and improved program any day.

While you are at it.  Check out the other free products at this site.  All have lifetime free license and no strings attached.  Put them all together and you have a free security suite that rivals any of the supscription bases suites like the ones from Symantec or Zone Alarm.

Their programs are all the full versions.  Not crippled versions of their paid for programs like AVG and others.

  9. I'd suggest Avira anti-virus found at this url:  http://www.free-av.com/

I've been using it for over a year and no problems at all.  The reason I prefer this one over other free ones is that this one puts the least amount of apparent workload on your PC.  Others I've tried caused the computer to slow down noticably.

    Good Luck
