it can't require any prep on Saturday (I'll be out of town & my husband will be bringing it). Any ideas/recommendations?

I'm trying to think outside the box (no brownies, cookies, spinach dip, taco dip......)

Thanks!

  1. stuffed mushrooms with cornbread, garlic, onions, chives and some stock. sprinkle cheese over the top. Cook ahead of time and if your husband can warm them in the oven or microwave that would be awesome.

also you could just do a fruit compote or salad served in an endive leaf that way they are all ready to go and you can pack it ahead of time. make up some shrimp or chicken salad with some walnuts and grapes and mayo and serve in an endive leaf. plain, simple and elegant top with parmesan cheese. yum

  9. what about pinwheels-not the ham ones. You get a small thing of sour cream, 2 pkgs of cream cheese, soften them, and add one can of green chillies, and a package of Hidden Valley Fiesta Ranch dry mix. Mix it all up, and spread on the big soft tortilla's, roll them up, and you can stick them in the fridge in wet papernapkins until you are ready to slice them. Serve with Salsa. It's so quick cheap, and delicious. People always make me make them, plus they are easy to eat, just use toothpicks.

Pour on a waxpaper lined cookie sheet and bake at 325 to 350 for about 15 minutes. For the filling take a container of cool whip, dice up strawberries and spread on the cooled dough.
