I need an attention grabber for a demonstration speech on how to set up your own fish tank?

1. What fish are you buy? Depends.

2. Buy a tank that is good for the fish you want to buy.That's the first thing to do of course. If you already have fish go to the next step

3. Do you have a type of chemical which cleans tap water? Ask the shopkeeper about water medication.

4. Fill the tank with water. Add the "medicine".

5. Do you have a filter? It should come with your tank.

6. Is your tank rectangular? Then on your lid you should have some kind of crease. Cut that bit. That space is going over your filter. Your filter is going over the side of your tank. If you don't want to buy a rectangular tank there are other shapes but rectangular gets lots of air for your fish. I reckon you should buy a rectangular tank.

7. If you want a fish bowl, there are filter which go into the water.

8.Hook/place the filter over/in your tank. You have a basic aquarium now.

9. Light is optional. (Tanks usually have light bulbs right underneath the lid)

10. Are you going to buy a tropical fish or a cold water fish? You will need a heater if you want to keep a tropical fish.

11. Select and buy your fish. If you want to buy all types of fish, you need to check if the species go together well.

12. You will get your fish in a bag. Float your bag in your aquarium for thirty minutes to get the temperature in your tank similar to the water with the fish.

13. Buy fish flakes. If you already have, that's good.

additional information. You can plant plants in your aquarium and get fancy backgrounds. Of course, these are optional. You can also get rocks and wood for your fish to hide.

opinion: You should get guppies. The colourful ones are males and dull ones are females. You can breed them easily and guppies don't get sick easily.
