Well, you can do it easy or you can do it right.

If you're planning to do a lot of selling on ebay, you'll need to learn the ropes and the best place to do that is with real sellers.

The main group for them is called Seller Central;

Start with the 2nd topic down, "20 Most Frequently Asked Questions on Seller Central" - follow all the links, especially the one by zekemcalister ( he has excellent tips),

Then go to the 4th link,

"*Seller Tips & Tricks of the Trade*"

and then read the first 10-20 pages of topics.

By then, you'll realize that you should also be reading the forums on Paypal, shipping, trust and safety, and no doubt a few others.

It can take a couple of months to learn the ropes but its worth it - ebay isn't for amateurs anymore.

Specify what kind of ebay seller you want to be- a powerseller or a casual seller?

I've been a casual seller for years and, in my opinion, the guides to selling on ebay are a rip off because its so easy that you really dont need a guide. Just follow the directions. Take a picture of your product and upload it. Then come up with a description of your product. I usually just google what I am selling and copy and paste what I find (with a few modifications so that you dont plagiarize a website). So, you basically have 1. your pic 2. your title of what you are selling  (what peps see in the search results)3. Detailed description (what they read when they click on it) 4. your starting bidding price (a lot people start out with 99 cents but make sure you are really willing to sell it for that much in the worst case scenario) 5. Shipping (ebay provides a shipping calculator or you can just look up shipping costs online)... Seriously, if you go on the website, you can probably figure it out without purchasing a guide!
