I have done scheduling on a spreadsheet manually for a year and it is making me nuts trying to accommodate requests for time off. Is there a decent download out there or a program that is not too expensive? Help!

  1. I own my own business and I also do scheduling in the Medical Field

Small suggestion Hire some adults and do not give in to every request for time off..

Teens will walk all over you if you let them..

They will tell you they need time off for a family thing when in actuality they want to spend time at the beach

You are the boss you do not have to accommodate them every time they ask for time off.

If they do not want to play by your rules and they keep wanting a lot of time off than fire them and hire someone more reliable it is that simple

You also have the right to request proof of funerals, hospital, doctors visits.

  2. Try DRoster. You can search for it in www.download.com. Its a simple software for small and medium scale businesses. It may take some time to get used to the program but you'll get the hang of it.

But I think your problem is simply a system problem. You better check your policy on time off/leave of absence. If you have none better make one. Be strict on your people. As the owner and leader of your business sometimes you need to make harsh decisions. If you need to replace one of your people, then by all means replace them.
