I need an internship fo rthe summer! can't find any environmental or wildlife conservancy org based in nyc

Question

I am desperate for some internship oppurtunities to do over the summer. I'm looking for some eco related, environmental, wildlife conservancy or some kind of oranization that's based in nyc. That's hard to find because most international org that have to do with these things are based in DC and other all are based in the place of the animals they focus the most on conserving-- unfortch new york city doesn't have as much wildlife. + I want it to be something that I can be active in, not writing letters all day you know. uhh..is this too detailed of ra search?? sorry its my first time doing a search.

Google maps has 26,240 listings in New York City for "environmental organizations". I am sure most are not of interest to you but this may be a good place to start. If you make some phone calls and ask around the larger organizations I think it will be likely that they can help you out. Check the link below.
