I need an intro for my speech,proposal: the U.S. government should increase incentives for alternative energy?

Coal power is  a dying breed,its cheap,its economical,its getting cleaner and should be utilized until we can come up with very practical uses of alternative energy that can match the use of coal.Not to end coal completly at this time(pause) but since it cannot be a renewable source,we need to think of the future generations that will have to ..blah blah blah etc etc

this will make me listen, and think your not an environmental whacko out to put a complete stop on an easy,cheap economical/practical use of creating energy without damaging the economy.I believe alternative sources are a good thing for the new century but I dont think we should be forced into a energy crisis due to good intentions

Fan fare! Ha-ha? Here's your intro, The government has exceeded the authority it is provided in the constitution. The government doesn't belong in the free market. The federal government sole duty is to run the military and protect the citizens of America. They have failed. Until they can do the one job they have been given by the constitution maybe they should get that right first before moving into the arenas they have no authority over.

Open with 'the harmfulness' of toxic byproducts from currently used energy sources, to our families and wildlife.  Get pictures and cancer statistics that are relavent in proving that these nauxious byproducts are no good and cleaner /better fuel sources need to be implemented to save our planet and our planets 'fragile' inhabitants.

Why not list the subsidies currently given for non-renewable energy (& coincidentally the politicians funded by the coal industry)
