I'm going to apply for college soon but i am looking for the best career to take.

What do you think will give me more opportunities and money: Fashion Arts, Costume Studies (for film and television), Tourism and Travel (flight services) , or social service?

I am creative person and loves to design and my parents are kind of disapproving of my decisions. And im afraid that i wont get that much money and regret if i dont listen to them.

  1. the college at which you apply will provide all kinds of testing, etc to help you decide a good career path.  keep an open mind and have fun learning.

  2. Well to be in the fashion industry is not very easy before earning some money you have to put in a lot yourself and you need a good source to get known in designing industry.

I dont know about costume but travel and tourism is a good field and maybe you yourself could get some good packages in travelling because of being an employee in the tourism business.

  3. the only career i'd pick out of those is social service. assuming u r talking about a 4 yr degree in sociology...i looked into this already & with that degree you can work for any number of government organizations, make decent money, have a good schedule, and be able to help people. pretty rewarding. when you are in ur junior and senior year you will be completing some of the classes by doing student hours with some of the agencies you may end up working up with. it's a pretty secure and interesting future. have fun!

  4. Think about this. You will have a long life. Any decisions that you make now may cause regret in the short term, but you don't want to have long term regret by not following your dreams.

Social service does not pay well unless you decide to get your Master's in Social Work and become a therapist.

It is hard to get into the film and television industries, however, attending a fairly prestigious college in the field will afford you more opportunities than if you attend a lesser known school. However, anything is possible if you have talent, but count on spending some time getting where you want to go. You have to be very patient and persistent.

The Travel Industry is a fairly wide open field with numerous job opportunities. If you like travel and going to new places, I'm sure you will be delighted.

The bottom line is this: Where do you want to spend most of your time? What kind of environment suits you? You will be spending a lot of time there, so picking the right environment is essential.

For instance, in social services you will spend time in an office and in the field visiting families. Does this suit you? Or you more enamored with the busy studio and costume making environment.

    I hope this helps.
