I live in a small town, so are neighborhoods are supper small most of there are just a bunch of families living near each other. Well I have a new neighbor who is just renting this house below me, from day 1 we have had problems with them. I have had to call the cops almost every night, all they do is sell drugs; party and speed up and down the road. Well now they have started driving up are private drive way and turning around in my yard. They have even left there cars in are ditch and in are driveway; I’m to the point of loosing my mind I don’t know what to do. The cops never do anything but talk to them so now I’m tired of talking. I want to take action some how, the only thing that pops into my mind is to lay a spike strip on are road. Then let them do the damage to there cars and maybe they will stop coming up are road. I’m not for sure if it’s legal for me to do this or even if I should do this, I really need some help!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks

  1. Let me guide you in another direction.

Go down to the station and ask to speak with the Chief.

The Chief will fix the problem.  Explain, in detail, the situation to the Chief.  Tell him about all of your calls to his department.  Sometimes it takes the Chief's intervention to solve a problem.

Whatever you do, don't take this matter into your own hands!

You could end up getting yourself into more trouble than your idiot neighbors.  Don't set up spike strips on your land.  The law says that you cannot set traps to protect your land.  No land is worth a human life or human injury.

If you have a camera or camcorder, take pictures of the cars on your land.  If you can make video, then do that.  Take the pictures and/or video to the Chief when you speak with him.

Don't lose your patience.  Things will work out.

    Good luck.

  2. stop asking the cops to do something and file charges. they have no right to be on your property

  3. try complaining to the county.

call the police a lot, and call the non-emergency line to complain if they don't come.

video tape your findings if possible to show.

you can always get some federeal agencies involved too.

    good luck!

  4. 1. Call ahead and pick a time to talk.

    2. Don’t accuse; let them know how the problem bothers you and suggest ways to solve it together.

    3. Consult your condo or block association.  Ask them to send a standard letter citing the ordinance or by-law.  A condominium association’s right of first refusal is a little-known clause that can be used to buy your neighbor out.

    4. Should that fail, call your local precinct.  Keep a record of your complaint.

    5. As a last resort, file a complaint in court.

  5. If this is your own personal (you bought and paid for and you pay the taxes) property then you can legally have their vehicles towed off your property.

If you are just renting then you need to speak to your landlord about the issues you are having with them.

Since they are just renting, have you spoken to their landlord?

  6. don't do anything to damage their vehicles because you will be the one in jail. if there are drugs involved, by-pass your local police and call the county drug enforcement task force. if you're renting call the landlord and tell him they're destroying his property

  7. If they are renting, contact their landlord.  If you own the property that the cars are left sitting, get a sign saying it is private property and any unauthorized vehicles will be towed.  Be aware though, some driveways are on 'easements' which are typically set up because one house is behind the other and the only access to the road is through your property, then legally it is not your property.  These are all things you may want to look into before doing anything overly drastic.

    Good luck!

  8. you will be risking getting arrested by taking action on your own....keep calling the cops and they will eventually do something about it

  9. d**n well you can't legally put spikes on the road. If I were you I'd report drug dealing anonymously to those anonymous numbers that are available to people within your city.  Try to get them arrested legally..

  10. report it to you your local government rep, they like to look good, so they will probably get the ball rolling.... don't do anything silly as you will find you could be liable.hope this helps
