  1. Before I answer this, I want to say that the idea of antonyms and synonyms is largely arbitrary.  The opposite of love could be hate, or it could be apathy.  There are often many right answers, and there can be lots of interesting debate over whether one answer is better than another.  Often it is only circumstances that make the distinction.  I have chosen the following opposites that work for me.  There are a lot of other options that could have worked as well.

Ratiocinate emote (or meditate or veg)

Render           receive (or take or undo)

    Recapitulate detail (or preface)

    Loquacious laconic

    Verbose           terse

Gregarious standoffish (or shy, or solitary)

Elocution   audition (listening, reading, oration--this one could go

                             off in many different directions)

    Circumlocution candor (directness, crassness)

    Recalcitrant   enthusiastic (responsible, meticulous)

  2. dictionary.com and thesaurus.com are great places to begin

    guess

    to default upon, to impurify

    to state verbatim

    laconic

    brief

    antisocial, solitary

    stammering clumsily

    beeline, direct path

    obsequious, submissive
