  1. Try a monochromatic painting, or a one color painting using just one brush stroke to make your image with.  Start with say a nice yellow mix of a lot of water and a little yellow watercolor paint, then wash it all over the lower right hand corner of the paper.   Let it dry, completely dry before going on, then mix some light blue and paint it in the upper left hand corner on down. When that's dry completely, then paint the black trunk of the tree.  Start with the bottom of the truck first then work going from bottom to top getting thinner as you work in the smaller branches.  After that why not mix up some dark red after the black is dry, completely dry now, and use the brush to make leaves.   Experiment with shapes of the leaves on a separate piece of paper and when you've got the type of leave you want go ahead and paint on the painting with the branches.  Just let the brush doing the painting, you just lay the brush on the paper and take it off to make the leaf shape.   And once your done you can do it again only this time you'll be a little wiser.  Remember have fun.
