The past few day I have had some bad pain that starts hurts my v****a and inner thighs and has gotten worse the past few days (it almost feels bruised) I have had cramping pains in my lower belly the past few day and my mother-in-law said yesterday that the baby looks like he dropped. Is that why I am in such pain I can not move my feet move than a few inches off the ground and need help getting in and out of bed. Has anyone else ever had this happen? I called the doctor office they will call back this afternoon!

  1. I know exactly what it is because I have had the same thing with all 3 of mine! The baby's head has dropped into your pelvis and it is "splitting" your pelvis open a little bit and stretching out your pubic bone, which is causing pain and aggravating the nerves in your pelvis and the ones that run down your legs. When you're pregnant you release a hormone called Relaxin that loosens your joints to make sure your pelvis will spread during delivery so the baby will fit! It's nothing to WORRY about, just very painful and miserable and, unfortunately, you'll have it until you have your baby.

It hurts so bad when you move or when you go from sitting to standing or lying to sitting, etc... because where your pubic bones meet there's a ligament that is stretching and your bones are out of alignment because of it. It's actually called Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction, or SPD, if you want to look it up!

Hang in there and don't worry. It's a good sign that your baby's dropping and you're starting the process! I find that it sometimes helps to sleep in an upright position on the couch, and to keep your legs as close together as you can - if you spread them apart it adds to your pelvis spreading apart and it will hurt!

    GOOD LUCK!!

  2. Sounds like the baby has dropped and causing you some pain. Good luck I know this hurts!!

  3. I had an extremely painful last few weeks of pregnancy. A lot of false labour and the same bruising feeling. It turned out my son was just a really big baby!!! 10"11!

It doesn't mean your going to have the baby any sooner, I would still talk to your doctor to check in though

  4. Oh yes I hated those pains!! They hurt soo bad!! The baby has dropped and his/her head is now putting pressure on muscles and ligaments. This is part of the "round ligament" pains that you get. It is completely normal though. I am so sorry for you!! They hurt so bad. :-(

  5. 37 weeks pregnant and have been feeling this way for almost a month now.there is nothing they can do about it.they told me to take a tylenol and rest.

  6. i'm 35 weeks as well..and i cant lift my legs either...and also have been having slight cramps...my baby is breech though so i dont know if breech babies can still drop...  but anyway....keep us posted on what the doctor says..i'm very curious!

  7. Yes I started feeling this way about my 34th week. It could be that the baby dropped. I am not 39 weeks and it is not better. Sorry wish I could say that it will go away but does not seem to. I told my ob and she checked me and everything was ok. Good luck to you.

  8. I am going through the same thing now.  My inner thighs feel like Ive been riding a bike for hours!!!  Im 33 weeks today.  But in your case, the cramping and the baby dropping sounds like your little one is settling into position for birth.  My doc told me to just take it easy and stay off my feet but to drinks lots of water and relax.  Hope all is well and congrats on the baby!
