  3. Look, you asked this question before and I answered it, but you see chaps are somewhat necarry when you're wearing hard laden boots, it helps to  balance them better,

And plus they look  great and protect you if you fall down, i TOTALLY agree with g.millac, they look graet, sort of trendy and while you're having fun, it's not that bad to attract SOMEONE,

Again, Have a ton of fun and wear chaps if you own them, if you don't then you can go without them, but it's always better to own a pair if anything bad turns up,

Hope I helped and have a glorious time!!!

  4. YES THEY ARE VERY IMPORTANT! not only do they look great, they help you so that your saddle will not "rub". i have gotten many many (very pain full) sours. but 1/2 chaps are great too, they are a lot less of a pain in the butt, and they do the same job!!!!!!

  5. English or Western?

English: Yes, if no tall field boots.

    Western: NO

  6. It depends on Riding.  If you are doing a western pleasure class, then yes you should have chaps.  But riding down the trails, or in the areaning, it is not neccessay.  They are really there to help protect your legs from riding sores.  But I have never used them and In the summer I'll ride in shorts and flip flops with out them.  They aren't necessay.

  7. It depends on what kind of riding you are doing.  If you are on the trails they will help protect you legs from the brush.  They also help with your leg grip as leather will grip the saddle better than jeans.  They also help protect your clothes from holes forming from the friction of cloth and leather and in English riding the stirrup leather can pinch your leg.  A pair of riding boots or leggings will do the job if you don't have or want to use chaps.

  8. I am riding in English Hunter right now and i never wear chaps.  I don't even own a pair.  If you want to wear them, then do.  It depends on what type of riding you want to do.

If I was showing, I would definitely wear them, but I am only taking lessons.
