  1. I have a 2001 A4 with 91k miles. And though this car isn't as bad as everyone thinks it is, but its still a headache. The timing belt is very choosy and audi has sent out an extended warranty related to the timing belt. Aside from that, the engine ONLY takes  synthetic, my engine blew 10k miles ago, and the dealer replaced it for me since i was on an extended warranty Aside from that I was told the the Differentials on these cars are prone to leaking (I never had this problem) and that the Electronics usually start to foul up when it goes over 100k. Theres still a huge list of stuff wrong with it, MSN autos helps, as well as forums.

    Best of luck.

  2. >> used 2001 audi a4 2.8L OR 1.8T

I just got a letter about Audi class action suit on audi A4 1.8 T (timing belts).  They tend to break way too early.

I own 2000 Audi A4 (1.8t), and it is a good car. Very stable.  But the maintenance cost is EXTREMELY high.  The car (1.8T - turbo engine) NEED premium AND full synthetic oil. So also expensive to run.

    Good Luck...

P.S.  I would not ever get another audi again.

  3. Well I have a 2002 volkwagen Jetta gls and a 2005 Audi A4 quattro. And I had to replace lots of parts in these two cars and volkswagen and audi are the same but audi is a better car but very expensive to fix like today my volkswagen is in the dealer getting fix and I have to pay 1,000 just to repair the sunroof but just remember audi and volkswagen are the same if you buy a vw part it will alway say audi and vw.My audi still has warranty because I only have 23,000 mile on it because I take my vw to work well I hope this helps and if u r willing to spend on a audi well do it

  4. The price for any kind of part or repair is gonna be high becuase its an audi, and its no secret that a4's have had transmission problems, which get pricy to fix

for some reason some of the people ik who have bought audi's have had window problems and have needed to get them replaced

but i bought a used a4 and my friend bought a new one and neither of us have had a single problem

so just be prepared for the high price of possible maintenance
