I need braces HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Question

I'm 13 and my mum and dentist are forcing me into braces, there cosmetic so it's my choice but are they worth it?? please can anyone who's had them, is having them or any other informtion let me no!! I have a really low pain level(i'm a wuse!!) and i'm scared of the dentist(strange i no)!

please help me if you can!!!!!!

I really think you should have them as your teeth will look great once they're taken off, and if not you may have complications when you're older.

Im 13 too and have them on at the moment...they are absolutely fine and only hurt a little a few hours after they are put in.

Go for it :) You'll be much happier later on when you have nicer teeth than your friends :D

braces are fine;

they dont hurt at all, and plus you can choose the colour :)

i've completed my braces, and im 14.

i got them at about your age :)

i had the plastic ones first, with wires around a few teeth, the only problem was getting gum stuck in them.

and then i fixed, i hated them at first, but tbh, it was well worth it.

atm im wearing retaners, just at night, its all good.

my teeth are straight and nice, and it really didnt hurt.

you've got nothing to worry about.

i say you should get them, because adults wish they got them at my age like my parents. and they dont have the oppertunity anymore :p

so go for it! trust me, you'll be glad you did it :D

Hey, I have braces and let me tell you, getting them on, doesn't hurt AT ALL. I was very surprised, but getting them on was no big deal. After you get them on, for the first couple weeks, you might be sore, even very sore. The soreness is the worst pain you will feel. Also, once you've had them for a while, the back wire might start to scratch the skin in the back of your mouth. Simple solution is dental wax. It's a lifesaver. Just spread it over the brackets or where ever you are having the problem. I really don't mind having them, so I think it would be a good choice for you. Seriously, the worst part might just be having to avoid some pretty delicious foods. That part does suck. But all in all, they do not hurt and they are definately bearable. Good Luck!

yes they are worth it because youll only have them for like 2 years or so, but after that you will have straight teeth for the rest of your life. (: i have braces and at first it hurts when you get your wires on. its all really the wires that make your teeth hurt. and it really only last a few days like maybe 2-3 days. but then after you get used to it, it seems like their not even in your mouth at all. hope this helps and good luck (:

I had braces when I was a teen.

It is worth it because it makes you look prettier when it is all finished.

It can be pretty painful, sore and constant pressure so I ate soft foods.
