I am writing a report on what foreign country I would visit, and what I would do on that trip. I want to backpack from Munich to Berlin, and visit at least one (1) castle along the way. I need the state it is in, and the name of the castle. Also, a website would be nice.

Note: This is an oral presentation.

Danke.

  1. moritzburg castle its in Saxony, Germany and

    neuschwanstein castle in bararia

  2. I agree about Moritzburg but not Neuswchwanstein (its going in the wrong direction) instead I suggest Albrechtsburg in Meissen where the famous porcelain is made  The discoverer of European porcelain, Biottger, was imprisoned there.  The porcelain factory is nearby and you can visit the museum.  Check out http://www.jbb7994.com

  3. The following site is only in german but gives you an idea of how many castles are in Germany (although the list is not complete!)

Some castles / palaces on your way (a small selection):

    In Munich Nymphenburg Palace (Bavaria)

    Nuremberg Castle (Bavaria)

    Moritzburg Castle (Saxony)

    Königstein Fortress (Saxony)

Very famous Sanssouci Palace and Park in Potsdam, close to Berlin but in Bundesland ("state") Brandenburg

Castle Neuschwanstein (besides Heidelberg the most famous castle in germany) is not on your way but it would be a nice day trip from Munich
