  1. I can't speak for other schools, but you would be a cinch for Boise State University. Here is the link to their admission requirements:

About halfway down is a chart showing GPA and test scores. We're a small school for a state university, but have an excellent Liberal Arts program, and our football team won the Fiesta Bowl a couple of years ago, meaning lots of money coming into the college right now.

I hope this helps, and good luck!

  2. The best thing for you to do now is talk to your academic counselor at your college. They can give you resources and ideas of where to go next.

  3. It's good that you have extra-curricular activities, but it appears that you have sacrificed your GPA to play golf.  That is never a good thing.  All the extra-curriculars in the world won't make up for a poor GPA.  I think you probably know that the tier one schools are out of reach for you.

However, there are still tier 2 and 3 schools that are well within your reach.  Many of them only require a 2.0.  Your SAT isn't bad, which leads me to think you really should have given up golf to concentrate more on your studies.

Check out US and World News Report - it has a complete listing of almost every college in the US, along with their tier level, GPA and SAT averages, etc.  That will help you start your research.  Another option is to go to community college for 2 years.  That will give you the opportunity to raise your GPA, and if you can maintain over a 3.3 you might have a decent shot at getting into a tier 1 school.

    Good Luck
