My husband is turning 50 next month. I am throwing a surprise party, and need some creative ideas to make it extra special. I have arranged a paint ball war with his friends, son, and brothersd so they can hunt the hunter, but that is all I have so far. need drink ideas, games, decorations, etc. My husband hunts for deer, elk, bear, fishes and is an avid diver. any ideas will help

  1. Hi,

To make the celebration special I will suggest to prepare a cake with a very special theme, since he likes fishing you can do Fishing cake.

They look very nice. This is one example that you can take a look:

    Congratulations!!

  2. Get a pig on a spit! You can then do baked spuds, and corn on the cob. You can hire the spit and do yourself or look up in phone book, some caterers do it for you.

I think guys would just prefer keg beer, and bring their own spirits you dont have to have too many games/drinks for a 50th its more of a social gathering he'd be after, but the paint ball would be good.

  3. With the food what about having a "camping" theme and only serving foods you can cook when out camping etc!

  4. My husband is a big hunter too. a pig roast would be great, but can be kind of expensive. Maybe you can get some Bison or Elk burgers to grill out for everyone, make some potato dishes and veggie dishes on the side, or just make all his favorite foods for the party. decorate in camo and hunting type stuff- use his gear as decorations around the yard or house - hang hunting clothes on a line, set up his decoys all over, put out his targets, fishing nets, find some of that camouflage mesh stuff to hang up as a canopy in the yard (I can't think of what it's called....any sporting or hunting store should have it or if you have a discount surplus store go there first for things, much cheaper) they have these paper targets (pretty much a poster of wild animals) for like $1 of all different types of animals, you can hang them all over. have a game with a Nerf bow and arrow to have guests shoot at a target for prizes, or fish stuff out of a small wading pool with a pole and some kind of hook (maybe blindfolded for more fun!), check out the outdoor stores they may have some type of game to play like a hunting trivia game or something. maybe make up a trivia game about your hubby and all his hunting trips.

My suggestion is to go to the stores and wander around and find stuff, you will get new ideas from all the stuff you find!
