I am always sad. Nobody ever likes to hang out with me. I am the most unpopular girl in school. I always feel hated. I've even considered suicide before (not thinking about it anymore, don't freak!) I'm only 12 and I know it's majorly unhealthy for me to feel like this :( HELP~

  1. The fact that you are identifying your condition as depression is a healthy start.  Getting help at this stage is imperative.  What I would suggest is to work on developing your interests.  Find a hobby or activity to be involved with.  This will give you something to think about and also something to share with others.  When you have common interests it is much easier to make friends and have something to talk about in a positive way.  How about trying out for some team sport.  Learning to be part of a team will give you a real sence of belonging which is what it sounds like is missing from your life right now.

  2. - You may have depression, and in that case you should get help. Don't be ashamed of needing medication, and don't give up until you find something that helps. Consider seeing a therapist.

    - Identify your feelings and moods. Depression is a self-destructive effort to avoid feeling. Accept that emotions are natural and helpful. Learn that mood changes are started by an event, a memory, a dream.

    - Challenge depressed thinking. People with depression remember and blame themselves for bad events, while they forget about and give others credit for good events. Their low expectations mean they often don't prepare adequately and give up too easily. Worst, they think they are essentially different - damaged somehow - from other people. These are all learned habits of thought that can be unlearned. Pay attention to your assumptions and beliefs.

    - Let others know. People who are unhappy with their lives often put on masks for the world, because they believe their true selves to be shameful, unworthy. But this belief is wrong.

  3. Read my Yahoo blog http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-IeUS6eQye...  It gives you some suggestions.  I suggest you try them all, if for no other reason, because they are good suggestions.  Stop thinking of yourself.  Accept yourself - you need unconditional positive regard - it starts with you!  After that, stop thinking of yourself and start giving out flowers or random acts of kindness.  You don't have to be the most popular girl in school or life.  You have to be yourself and bring to the world who you are.  We are waiting.  We need you.

  4. Please talk with your parents about getting you to see a counselor. Even if you say that you're not thinking about suicide anymore, it's not healthy to let depression go untreated as there's always a chance those feelings might come back and you might act on them. When I was in my teens I felt the same way. My suicidal thoughts would come and go and a I swore that i would never act on them, but one day I was just so deep in a depression I overdosed on sleeping pills. I'd hate to see someone so young go through the same things that I did. Talk out your feelings with someone, but I do highly recommend a counselor as it's a lot easier to talk to them because they won't judge you on what you have to say. They just want to help you. Please seek some help.
