  1. cost of disposal is going up so who pays yes u guest it u and fellow students or their parents. cans can make money.recycly paper saves trees, plastic can be turned into clothes.cuts back on land fill sites food waste into great compost to feed plants in school grounds get a ROCKET it turns food into friable compost in days with no smell if BOKASHI/EMI no not sales man seen it work.popa

  2. Put recycle bins in the cafeteria and hallways to collect cans & bottles.   If someone needs to turn in the items and can collect the money for them, you could buy and give away free reusable water bottles for everyone which would then save people from buying plastic water bottles.

Put blue bins in each classroom to collect paper for recycling.

If this is for home, it depends on if your town takes in recylcable items.  We have bottle/can & paper pick up along with our trash.

Not recycling but to be green, the schools could turn off half the lights in a classroom if they are not actually needed.

Things that will happen, the toxins in plastic bottles will seap into the ground which will get into drinking water, crops and animals used for food.  The toxins also contribute to global warming and one definitely unexpected side effect of global warming is that people's allergies will get worse as the earth gets warmer.

  3. Reduce by using fewer paper towels, napkins.

Can you get it down to 2 a day?

Reuse by scrubbing your kitchen sink with the plastic wrapping you were about to throw away.

  4. get a recycling bin

    or

start recycling at your school (thats what my school started this year)

    good luck! =]

  5. When I began recycling the first thing I did was looked at my trash to see what I had in there.  My trash was mostly paper, so that is where I began.

The three r's are reuse, reduce, recycle, in order.  It's a good idea to look for ways to reduce the amount of waste paper, or reuse it before turning to recycling.

I got online and looked for ways to reuse paper.  I found many.  Next, I called companies to minimize junk mail I was receiving.  Finally, I located drop off points for recycling in my area.

Doing it step by step made it easy.  I was committed to the idea because of my commitment to the environment.  I think educating the kids about pollution would motivate them to do their part.
