I need extremely Detailed instructions to opening a port for uTorrent on my Linksys WRT300N.?

soooother is almost correct , but let out one major part !

you need to set a ip in the tcpip settings of your nic card so the ip being forwarded to does not change when the dhcp is renewed . or everything you done is for not

in the address bar of your browser ..

Type in 198.162.1.1   Then enter ..

Opens up login to router.......

If youv;e never used before..

Try using Admin,,as the password, leave user blank

Try using the word "password" as the password..if that don't work

If that opens , go to advanced, forwarding and allow the port range you want opened..6881 to 6889 for torrents.

You will have to know your lan i.p  

It will be something like 198.162.1.100

To find this, Click - Start-Run- type in cmd

You'll get a Dos window..Type in ipconfig/all and hit enter

Should see your lan address there

Also check  off TCP and UDP protocal in the forwarding window

You do not need Port Forwarding enabled for downloading torrents,,but it is adviced to open up those above prts as it will improve your upload speed , and as a result , increase your download speed....
