I need eyeliner help. First time makeup user.

Question

I have been using makeup for about a month, and don't use it everyday. I'm 12.

I put my eyeliner on my bottom and mascara on the top...But I see girls with eyeliner on both top and bottom and they look so pretty. How do I put it on the top, please help me, get me very descriptive tips please. it would make me understanding how to do it easer. I would ask my mom but she doesn't ware makeup and doesn't know herself. She only wares it to really important things like wedding and bay showers and stuff.... so she doesn't know her mom usually does it for her but thats another story.... Thanks so much...

k well ya it's real pretty when you 4 me when  get heavy on the bottom here i usally don't use mascara cuz it smears easly and waterproof is hard 2 get off.

so on ur top eye lid put eye liner and bottom on that gewy looken stuff and put it there.to put it on top:

kinda stretch out the corner of ur outer lid, so that its staright. Line the top, really close to the lash line. You can use a liquid eyeliner or pencil.Try to make it a smooth line. If u want the line thicker, go over the line you did before with the pencil and line it thicker. You can even do a little "wing" at the end.

If u make mistakes, just grab a wet q-tip and "erase" ur mistake

also a little blush won't hurt and i wear lip gloss but if im not goin anywhere that special i wear just eye liner.

first use pencil. It's a lot easier to apply. I've been wearing makeup for years and i can't apply liquid correctly

Here's what I do:

put your pointer finger on the corner of your eye (the one away from your nose) and pull till your eyelinds are covering your eyes..keep the other eye open. hold your eye with the opposite hand you write with

Now take your pencil and draw a line as close to the lashes as possible. Doing it slow will increase your chances of doing it right.

Repeat with the other eye

The biggest thing I can tell you is that eyeliner is tricky. It takes a lot of practice, and i'll tell you soon you'll be an old pro. Keep at it, and don't get frustrated

EDIT: I forgot to say make sure your pencil is sharpened. You don't want it too sharp or else it will break and that is a big mess and you don't want it too dull because that hurts. Find a happy medium here.

Be careful about putting liner on top--you don't want to look too asleep :P

Top: This takes practice

1. It works the same to draw one single line but the hatchmarks require more precision.

2. My trick for this is go inside out and try to draw one line as close to the lash line as possible--if you are going to make a mistake, it's better to run the liner into your lashes then up onto your lids (it actually helps to blend the liner into your lash line.

Bottom Lash Line:

1. Go inside out --if you are applying eyeliner to the bottom lash line, start from the inside and draw little hatchmarks right on or just above the bottom lash line

2. If you are looking for a more subtle look then just go with one set of hatchmarks and smudge them together with a q-tip/finger/brush. If you want a more dramatic look then just keep applying little hatchmarks outside in until they start to run together to form a line

btw--some liners that i like are maybelline line stylist and unstoppable, and revlon colorstay (I don't use black eyeliner so try browns, navys, dark greens, or eggplants--depending on the color of your eyes/face/etc...)

take your eyeliner (pencil preferably) and draw a line as close to the lash line as you can starting at the middle of your eye and going out until you reach the outermost corner. start out thin and go thicker as you get nearer to the outer corner

ok so i think it looks better if u wear liner on the top and bottom lid

and mascara on top and bottom as well

ok so i am assuming u no how to do the bottom so here is what u do 4 the top

make sure ur hans r clean and then use ur hand u dont write with to strech ur eyelid to the side (like a chinese persons lid)

the take ur liner and make ur line as close to the eyelsh line as possibe

then repete on other eye

if u want to use funky liner colors---

blue- use copper or dark brown, navy blue or a really dark shade of blue

*do not use black cuz it is too harsh

brown-a nice purple or violet would look the best so im not gonna give u more examples cuz that is da prettiest and u should really use that

Ok,try making short strokes right along the lash line. A lot of this depends on your eye shape. If you have smaller eyes, start in the middle and draw the stroke a little past the outermost corner, that can make your eyes look bigger.

Smugding the line with a Q tip also helps because it's not just a harsh line, but more smooth.

Apply mascara to the top lashes is easier when tilting the head back slightly. To apply to the bottom, hold the brush vertically and move the brush from left to right.

First of all make sure your eyeliner pencil has been sharpened so it has a fine tip. For applying eyeliner to the top of your lid, you can either apply it under the lashes or on the top. Personally I think it looks better on the top. Close the eye that you want to apply the liner to and hold it down by the lashes with your fingertip if you can. With the other hand start applying the eyeliner ontop of your lid, as close to the eyelashes as you can. Have a practice. Muck around with it, see how you like to apply it etc.

You should switch your pencil eyeliner to a liquid one. It is much more easier and faster, you just gently brush it across your top eye-lid.
