  1. Show them how to make their own cards with construction paper crayons or magic markers, but 10 years old kids now a days, turn up their noses on crafts, a 10 year old now a days will rather spend their own money on their father with their own ideas then a 6 or 8 year old, Trust me, the younger the kids are the more older their ideas are, If they are 10 years old, they think they are 16, soo forget that, But stick to your 6 year old and they will love to do a card

  2. Buy a plain T-shirt and some fabric paint.  Have all three work together and make him a t-shirt.  You can put their handprints on it, and its something he can keep forever.

  3. when I was young we drew pics of our mom's for mother's day..maybe have them draw pics of their dad's...might be interesting for any age

  4. I dad is a business man they could make him a macaroni pencil holder, draw a collage with 3 different parts and let them tell the story (of course father related)go all out and let them dress the part and everything, or you could right little nots for dad and leave them where he would easily find them.

    My kids love that one

  5. For the 6 and 8 year olds and maybe 10 you could take a big hunk of clay and have the stick their foot in it (without) their shoes on.  Then, they got paint them any color they want a write a poem to go with it.  That's what I did when I was 5.

  6. I did this for a family that I nannied for; they have 4 children ages 4-9. I got a long piece of paper and wrote this poem with a black marker.

    "Walk a little slower daddy," said a child so small. "I'm following in your

    footsteps and I don't want to fall.

    Sometimes your steps are very fast,

    Sometimes they're hard to see;

    So walk a little slower, Daddy,

    For you are leading me.

    Someday when I'm all grown up,

    You're what I want to be;

    Then I will have a little child

    Who'll want to follow me.

    And I would want to lead just right,

    And know that I was true;

    So, walk a little slower, Daddy,

    For I must follow you.

    Then what I did was have the 4 year old (bc she had the smallest feet) step in paint and then on the paper on the bottom. I did this with the other 3; in the end it looks as though the footprints were getting bigger as the kids aged, but in actuality it was all 4 sets of footprints. I then laminated it and rolled it up for him as a scroll.

    He loved it and has it hanging in the office!

  7. Make a father's day tie with paper.  Cut out the paper to look like a tied tie or bow tie and the children colour it in - write their message at the back

    Cutie 1123 that is absolutely great!

  8. A business card holder made of popsicle sticks and then painted the father's favorite color. It was a popular Father's Day project I did with a child care class of mine once. Another idea is a picture frame (can be made with popsicle sticks, too) that is painted and contains a picture of the child with their father.
