I need fundraising ideas!?

I belong to a group that is rasing money to build a desperately needed animal shelter. We have a very high euthanasia rate and most of it is due to having a severly small dog pound. We are meeting tomorrow night to gather fundraising ideas and I really need some good one that will raise a money and community awareness.

well, this is not real creative, but why not have a rummage sale, or garage sale. people can donate items to sell.

or if someone in your group is a baker, maybe sell cakes or pies.

or  a car wash....or maybe if a professional photgrapher would donate their time, you could try to do pet photos for a small fee.

have a movie night for families with pizza donated by places or baked by your organization.  lpass out information after the movie with a brief lecture of what you're trying to accomplish

you could do car washes, bake sales. You can also go to local business such as fast food joints or arcades and such to see if they are willing to donate vouchers for free food or free tokens and you can hold a raffle where each ticket will cost like a dollar or two and then you can hold an event where people drop off their pets and you pamper them kinda like a mini spa and you can charge for each service (like giving baths, painting nails, cutting hair etc). Or you can hold a dance contest and to get in it will cost like 5 dollars and the prizes could be the donated items. This is all I have for now, good luck with everything

I don't know about community awareness but Avon just started fundraising.  Depending on the rep you could get up to 40% profit on items sold.  People know avon and it is something different from the car wash, cookie sales, yard sales, ect.
