I need funds to go back to school on. My credit is aweful.?

I have tried lending institutes. My credit was shot due to bad business deal. I have some medical background and want to return for a 1 year associate degree. Have tried Sallie Mae. NO Go. Does anyone have any information? Crying shame

Here's what I would do, and it's certainly worth your time.  I presume you know where you want to get your Associates degree.  Hopefully you're going to a brick & mortar school instead of trying to do it online.  Schedule an appointment with someone at the college who specializes in financial aid (every campus in America has an expert).  Get the story directly from the source.  I think you'll find some options.  Be sure to ask if there's anyway you would qualify for FAFSA in January 09.  Ask about all grants and student loan programs, including work-study programs.  Some colleges will waive all tuition and fees IF you are there employee... perhaps this is an option.


  2. Grants and scholarships are your options. I believe colleges offer particular scholarships so it's best to check out the school you want to enter and research on the scholarship programs they have available. You may qualify for one of them.

    You may also research for other scholarships online. It takes time and patience to research for the scholarships you could qualify for. It also takes time to complete your application so it's best to start as soon as you can.
