  1. No,i breed gerbils and i have found they don't even use their igloos i have provided they will make a nest in the corner of their cage(especially if its a tank) Most of the gerbil books i have, say that gerbils DON'T need a igloo, but if you want put on in their cage, just make sure it isn't plastic, because they will chew it fast(well mine do any way!) you can bu ceramic ones or i find even hard wood ones are better the plastic! Hope this helps.

P.s if you use a igloo no, gerbils prefer to sleep together, so as long is its bigger enough you shouldn't need 2 igloos.Yes sand baths should be provided even for 10 mins(as if left in they tend to pee in them) because they roll in the sand to give their coat a clean(it also makes it shine) Chinchilla sand with a ceramic tub is perfect for them!

  2. you do not have to buy two igloos cuz its more than likely that your gerbils would rather cuddle with eachother then separately. but you should have a cardboard box or a commercial hidey place for each gerbil so they can have personal space if wanted. an occasional sand bath would be fine, but it is not really required for gerbils. use play sand though noot chinchilla sand i would only do it once a month.

  3. No, just one igloo will be fine. Giving them sandbath will help a lot with their fur. I give mine sandbath about once week. just put some in a bowl or something and they will learn to get in it and roll around and make their fur healthier.

  4. They will sleep in the same igloo and I don't know anything about a sand bath sorrry!!!

  5. only 1 but i warn you they will chew on the plastic and may axedentaly swallow some a die and sand baths are goood

  6. they will enjoy snuggling up in a medium sized igloo and you can buy sand bath powder on line, though i think its just for chinchillas I'm not sure though you should just look websites selling the powder and it ll say "good for rats guini pigs chinnchillas etc."

  7. no if theyre from the same litter they will get very attached to each other and sleep in the same igloo

just be sure to get a good sized one (not too big)
