I need an eye exam, simple trapezoidal wire frames and lenses for seeing distances. Can someone tell me what I might expect to pay?

Also my current glasses. is it possible to have them turned into mirroed sunglasses without changing the lense?

  1. Whenever I got new glasses, I usually pay $300-350,

that includes the exam, wire frames and tint. Yes, they

should beable to installed mirrow sunglassed in your

    old lens.

  2. It depends on the frames, where you have your examination done, the sort of lenses you get, and any extras.

I'd expect around $300, assuming you arne't going with the cheapest options nor the most expensive designer frames.

  3. the prescription is about 40 and then you have to go to the eyglass store to pick your frame and have them put in the lenses which could be anywhere from 50-400 dollars. i do know they have 2 pairs for $99 sales sometimes.

  4. About 200 - 300 dollars.

  5. My boyfriend got some glasses from the target eye center for 150, if you want something cheaper i would try there.

  6. Go to Sears Optical as you will pay way less than even Walmart for the whole thing.  Exams=$48.  Frames begin at $19.  Plastic lenses, $50.

No, you cannot change your current lenses into mirrrored sunglasses.  Mirroring is done during the manufacturing process.

  7. do you have really good insurance? i have Boeing insurance and they pay for most of the cost for glasses.. so it depends.

no, its not possible to change them without taking out the lens.

  8. It depends where you shop and what you buy.  There's online stores that'll do a pair for under $20, and fancy optical stores that will happily charge you $1000 for awfully nice designer frames and premium lenses and coatings. An eye exam should be under $100.

Sears Optical is OK if they have a real sale going, but frame selection and customer service aren't great.  Walmart prices are good, but the best deal is to have them put new lenses in an old frame.

Don't overlook local "mom and pop" independent opticians: sometimes their prices and selections of frames are better than the big stores.
