  1. “I am essentially a loner.”

ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€ÂœMost of the time I played by myself. Even then I was a loner, and I have stayed a loner all my life. [It] can make a man seem a little distant or aloof -- but it has helped pull me through some tight spots and hard times.”

  2. A lonely man is a silent man.

A man who trusts nobody has nobody at home.

Life without a friend is death without a witness.

    Spanish Proverb

  3. The only one I know of was attributed to Calvin "Silent Cal" Coolidge (former President).  He didn't actually say this, but its one of those urban myths that sometimes shows up.

One person talking to him said he talks so little they probably couldn't get him to say two words.

He gave a little smile and then said, "F*ck you."  Then he turned around and walked away.

Don't know any other "loner quotes."

Try watching the movie "Rebel Without a Cause" or maybe "Scarface."  Both have quotes that might lend themselves to this question.  Just remember that Scarface is kind of a tough movie to handle, be ready for lots of violence if you choose that one.

  4. I don't know any, but it occurs to me that there wouldn't be anyone around to hear a true loner say anything.

  5. Seclusion is the price of greatness.

    (Paramahansa Yogananda, `The Divine Romance')

Every man should have his own Holy Place where he keeps lonely vigil,

harkens for the Voices, and offers prayer and praise.

(Wabasha, Native American,  in `The Spiritual Athlete')

Some praise me, some blame me. I

    go the other way.

Sometimes those things that attract the most attention to us are the things which afford us the greatest privacy
