  1. Check the website for the county in which the house is located. Some have property information online to make it easier to pay property taxes. You can get basic information like the size of the house and the year it was built. If you want information on previous owners, check the paperwork you were given when you purchased the house. Old mortgages and the proof they were paid in full is sometime included.

More detailed information is probably not online. Check with your county to find out how they have archived old property records. Different locations used different record keeping systems.

  2. Zillow.com

OR) Even though you do not want to go - the only real way is to go to the county clerk's office/registrar to access copy of all deeds prior to yours for that property. If the home has any special history it could be registered with a historical society.

If you know the name of the family prior to your ownership you could do some online geneology search and find out about them if they lived there for a long time.

  3. http://www.v1g.org has a great database of address history, property information, and much more. Its like 20 bucks, but the database is pretty solid.

  4. Sometimes what you want doesn't exist.

Websites have data on them. The data comes from people. People put data on web sites for assorted reasons:

    1) They can make money

    2) They are interested in the subject and they want to share their interest, knowledge, or opinions with the world

    3) They want to network with their peers. (That means people their own age, with similar interests, not "Peers of the Realm", which are snooty Brits.)

Unless your house is famous or your county tax records office has too many people and not enough to keep them busy, there isn't any reason anyone would go to the trouble to put data about it on a web site.

    They wouldn't make money.

(Again) Unless it is a famous house, no one will be interested in it. The chance of anyone besides you or the previous owner having researched it and now want to share is nil

It won't help anyone meet hot women who want to chat.
